Tabletop bulb gardens

OK, never mind that here in New York we are experiencing another early spring snow storm (argh!!), therefore it's all the more reason to dream up spring tabletop gardens. And just because us urban dwellers may not have real gardens to dig around in, it doesn't mean we don't crave a little patch of green. In fact, it's more likely we do. For that reason this time of year has us styling moss and bulb gardens for your interior spaces.

Since the weather can be unpredictable, potted gardens bring a bit of spring inside when temperatures outside are not quit there yet. It makes sense that our Scandinavian neighbors style early garden bulbs so beautifully. After their long winters the first signs of spring are cherished and celebrated. I find great inspiration from their aesthetic.

Above: The blog Petranell has some great inspiration like this simple idea of wrapping moss with bind wire around some paperwhite bulbs.

Left: I love this idea of a few muscari bulbs dropped into a glass jar to create a little spring time terrarium. Found on the wonderful blog Tina Dalborg.
